Human Rights in Ireland is delighted to welcome this guest post from Walter Jayawardene, Campaigns and Communications Officer for the Irish Council of Civil Liberties.

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) is Ireland’s independent human rights watchdog, which protects and promotes human rights for everyone living in Ireland.  Every year, the ICCL hosts the Human Rights Film Awards, a project which enables filmmakers, activists, advocates and supporters of human rights in Ireland to collaborate and forge new ideas, working together so that the rights of the most vulnerable in Ireland are respected and protected.

The ICCL has come together with Fundit.ie to raise support – and funds – for the project, which year on year draws attention to pressing human rights issues and inspires people to get involved in their communities and make a difference in the world around them. We set a target of €4,000 for our first Fundit foray, and we’ve just reached the 25% mark. Unless we reach 100%, we won’t receive any funds, but with your help, we can make it happen!

Visit the ICCL Human Rights Film Awards Fund it page and pledge your support today. And we have some amazing Human Rights Film Awards-related rewards in return!
